Saturday 27th June

The first day of a break is always one that is filled with tiredness. I always have the intention that I will start straight away on the good habits and chores that I want to achieve by the end of the break. That first morning rolls around and I get myself ready........... then it never happens. I am groing used to that, growing used to the idea that I need that day of nothing to put the term behind me.

Today I was happy about:

  • A night of rain, it kept the air warm, fed the gardens and was such a comforting sound through the night.
  • The neighbourhood ducks. There are quite a few of them that wander down the next road. They are very funny to watch, I imagine that in a few months there will be trails of duckings to entertain me.
  • The council was giving away free plants today. I was hoping for some lavender but they didn't have any. I got a couple of native trees and some wild irises.
  • Old favourite CDs being dusted off.
